U-14 Girls returned safely from Earthquake hit Nepal

The Indian U-14 Girls’ Team fortunately flew back to the country from the earthquake severed Nepal on Sunday evening and landed on IGI Airport, New Delhi.

The persistent tremors had sent a furious panic waves among the girls team. The Indian Eves were scheduled to play Iran the day later but the Match got cancelled due to the severity. The Dasarath Stadium got completely jolted and so that match was withdrawn. The Indian Contingent was warming up in the Dasarath Stadium, when the calamity struck.

The wrath of the nature seems to have spread the horror all around which led Indian eves to stay outside their rooms. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) was constantly getting updates with the Indian embassy who were present in Nepal and with the External Affairs Ministry to ensure the safety and security of the U-14 Girls to get them evacuated.

The Tribhuvan International Airport got shut down and the Indian contingent urged the help of the Indian Armed Forces who helped the girls flying back in a military plane. The Indian Embassy stationed in Nepal also helped the 23 member team to get back to their home.

Praful Patle profile remains crucial as he thanked the efforts of Nepal Football Federation, Indian Airforce and Government of India in taking care of the Indian Eves and helping them sail through the horrific time. Head Coach Rocky Maymol stated “I thank God for looking after us and for keeping us safe. The earthquake was a frightening experience for everybody including me and obviously the Players”. The girls are safe and no casualties have been recorded so far. AIFF has promised to donate Rs. 11 lac for the earthquake struck victims of Nepal.
