Grassroots programme in Odisha

All India Football Federation (AIFF) has organized its much popularized Grassroots Development Program in Odisha. It was a three day Grassroots Coaching Course in Cuttack. The course has been attended by 36 candidates are presently participating in the Course under AIFF’s Grassroots instructor Ms. Anjana Turambekar. 

The Football Association of Odisha has proposed to open Grassroots Football Centers in different pockets of the state. The grassroots programs have become much popular these days with the initiative taken by Praful Patel, President of All India Football Federation (AIFF). Patel has stressed on the importance of these programmes several times. He has spoken about this at the launch of the Strategic Planning which was inaugurated by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke. It has been emphasized that a proper structure needs to be set up in order to train the young and the aspiring players to take up this game to make a career for them on an international parameter.

Praful Patel profile has motivated the federation to take up some serious measures in order to create a roadmap of success for Indian Football on a global standard. It has been perceived that the Grassroots Programs have been an overwhelming success in India and many young people are joining these sessions in order to make the initiative a success. The courses have been designed in parameters of both professional and amateur players. Apart from these courses, AIFF is also making serious efforts to bring in more and more international matches in India so that the face of football can get a newer look.
