Victory for AIFF Goa Academy Boys: A Pre-Stage Groundwork for U-17, 2017

The U-14 Goa Regional gives a tough competition while playing against players who are 2 to 3 years older than them. The team put up a formidable edge to the U-17 Team of Betalbatim SC with a 5-1 in a friendly match at Chowgule Sports Complex Goa. The boys are highly enthusiastic about the U-17 FIFA World Cup, 2017 and so they are being professionally trained at the Academy since February 2013. Although the Betalbatim SC boys were using their physical prowess and gave a shot at 8th minute, the AIFF Academy boys fought it back and equalised the whole in the 17th minute. Amarjeet Mishra, striker Shubham Sarangi and Hrishi Dhath made no mistakes in taking the right shots at the right moment. The AIFF boys dominated the match since the interval and made the entire match a one-way traffic.

These matches are proving worthwhile as the stage being set for the U-17 FIFA World Cup. The selection procedure has already begun and All India Football Federation (AIFF) is being very selective as they want to scout the best and the most talented players for the international event. AIFF President Praful Patel and AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das are giving utmost importance the parameters which have been stipulated for the selection. The AIFF is keeping the age factor of the players a serious criterion and they are executing all kinds of verification alert. It is through the Youth Development Programmes, the young players are being registered, enrolled and are maintained in a perfect chronology so that they lose no scope of age confirmation.

Praful Patel contributions have enabled AIFF to take a schematised approach as it implements an unbiased and neutral approach as they are acting on the Club Licensing System. The grass roots programs, which the governing body has scheduled all over the country, have received most positive response as thousands of young and aspiring players have enrolled themselves so that they can get the most restructured training. These elementary level programs are creating an extensive platform for the kids so that they can prepare themselves for a national competition and represent the country on a global arena.
