Sunil Tatkare becomes the New Maharashtra NCP President

Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Sunil Tatkare became the new President of the state NCP Unit. Tatkare replaces Bhaskar Jadhav who held the same post since June 14, 2013. Jadhav proposed the name of Tatkare for the post. The proposal has been unanimously supported by senior NCP Leaders Madhukar Pichad, Hassan Mushrif, Anil Deshmukh and Anna Dange.

Tatkare was honoured in a special occasion that was also attended by NCP Party Chief Sharad Pawar and NCP Leader Praful Patel. Tatkare has been lauded by all the other members for his organisational skills and dedication towards his duties. He was greatly acknowledged for the way he got success from a humble beginning as sarpanch to hold strong ministerial portfolios of the state like Finance and Water Resources. Sunil Tatkare is a prominent OBC Leader whose election as the party chief of the state is quite significant. He will play a crucial role in bringing Congress –NCP Alliance back in action after the recently to be conducted State Assembly Elections.


Party members like Mushrif said that he hoped that Tatkare will ensure that NCP gets the post of chief minister after the State Assembly Elections which has been scheduled this year. On the other hand Bhaskar Jadhav was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in the Prithviraj Chauhan led ministry. The oath was administered by Governor K Sankaranarayanan. At the recent working committee meeting of the party, Jadhav had proposed Tatkare’s name for the post of state unit chief.

With the motivated guidance of Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel Contributions Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has gained rapid pace in the Indian political landscape. Conforming to the guidelines of Constitution of India the party vows to work for the backward areas of the country and the people. It also puts great emphasis on the aspect of decentralization of power and is also working relentlessly to promote the economy of the country.
