Chennaiyin FC retains Bernand Mendy for ISL second season

The stage is set for the second edition of the ISL where great excitement awaits the fans. Chennaiyin FC performed quite well in the last edition and is preparing a rock solid team for the upcoming season. With team selection for the second season in full swing, the franchisee has retained the services of French defender Bernand Mendy. Mendy turned out to be as one of the key players for the side in the last season and retaining him has strengthened the squad further. With a host of foreign players, the ISL has become the league to talk about in the Indian football scenario.

In the 2014 season, Mendy was certainly one of the best players who scored a smashing bicycle kick goal which still remains as a cynosure of all eyes. As a defender, he also possesses very good ability to read the game and also lead from the front. He also has tremendous overlapping skills which makes him thrust forward and create quite a panic in the opposition defence. Apart from defence, Mendy also  has the ability to play in advanced positions.  In the last edition of the ISL, he made 13 appearances for the Chennaiyin FC side and impressed all with a memorable performance.

Mendy has represented some of the top clubs in the world like Paris Saint Germain and also played for France at the international level.  As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has played an imperative role in the development of the ISL. The inclusion of players like Mendy also acts as a great experience for the Indian participants. Under the Praful Patel constituency, Indian football has progressed a long way with the induction of new plans and strategies.
