Foundation Day of All India Football Federation

All India Football Federation (AIFF) which is the governing body of Football in the country was formed 77 years ago. It was on June 23, 1937 the apex body of football had its genesis as it gained a FIFA affiliation a year after country’s independence in 1948. AIFF has also gained the recognition of being one of the founding members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) which is the continent’s ruling body of football as it was established in the year 1954.

AIFF is also the member of the International Governing Body FIFA and Indian Olympic Association apart from AFC. AIFF has been registered with the Registrar of Societies, Mumbai, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

In present times, All India Football Federation has been gaining persistent strides under the leadership of AIFF President Praful Patel. With time the federation has been successful in creating a global platform for the Indian Footballers. AIFF has achieved in bagging the most prestigious FIFA U-17 World Cup which has been scheduled in 2017. The recently to be held Indian Super League is about to exhibit some of the most remarkable strikes of international stature. The standard of AIFF has been catapulted to a higher level with the strategic partnership which has been signed between Indian Super League and English Premier League.

NCP Leader Praful Patel is keeping no stone unturned as he motivates AIFF to take up active initiatives that can put Indian Football on a global landscape. With the upcoming leagues and tournaments, Indian Football will get a more of a wider outlook. Not only so, AIFF has received great applauds from Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for its neutral and unbiased approach in issuing licence to the teams participating in I-League. The organisation is also endeavouring to promote elementary football through its much successful Grass Roots Programmes and Youth Development Programmes. The objective of these sessions is to inspire the young mass in the most effective manner and to train them with the modern techniques of the game which will take them to represent their country to a greater arena in future.
