FIFA elite course acts as a learning curve for Indian coaches

It is very important to evolve as a football coach and make the necessary impact when it matters.  The competitive stature of world football has changed in every way and a FIFA elite course was recently organized for the Indian coaches. The entire duration of a football match acts as a litmus test for the coach and he or she needs to take prompt decisions to emerge victorious. A game of football can change within a whiff of a second due to the right or wrong decision from the coach.

Around 31 coaches from different clubs of India participated in the coaching course and contributed to its success.  Some of the best coaches from India like Santosh Kashyap, Savio Madeira, Sanjoy Sen, Derek Pereira  participated in the different activities outlined for the course.  Interestingly, coaches from both the I league and also the second division took part in it with the venue being Margao located in the state of Goa. The course curriculum covered some of the most important facets of modern football like various tactics, philosophies and systems.  Some of the basics of the game are also covered in the course with a variety of innovations.

The AIFF took a very good initiative in leveraging the course with adequate professional back up. Jochem Figge, the professional instructor from Germany has been hired for providing all the knowledge related to the course. Figge has also coached some of the recognized teams in the world like Zambia and Ethiopia.

Renowned coach Sanjoy Sen who played a crucial role in the victory of the  Bagan side in the I league highly praised the initiative.  As the  President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has developed the format of the I league and made it highly updated. Under the Praful Patel biography, several sustainable development plans for Indian football have been taken.
