NCP President Sharad Pawar has met prominent leaders of his party to discuss various strategies for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections which has been scheduled this winter. The meeting will be also attended by Ajit Pawar and other senior leaders of the party focussing to resolve the political crisis in Maharashtra. This will be first meeting between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar after the latter resigned from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Besides, the meeting was also preceded by Supriya Sule and eminent NCP Leader Praful Patel who will take decisions on the resignations of other NCP members. The resignation of Ajit Pawar has created quite a stir in the party itself. Pawar told one of the leading news channels that the resignation of Ajit Pawar has been accepted and there will be no change in the decision in this context.
NCP President will also meet the state’s Chief Minister to discuss the existing political scenario before the NCP legislature party meeting. In the past four days, Prithviraj Chavan has been meeting legislators and party leaders as he is constantly in touch with Sharad Pawar and the Congress Leaders in Delhi. The NCP Legislature party meeting is likely is likely to put a close to this four day event. Chavan has accepted Ajit Pawar’s resignation after NCP meet on Friday.
The party meeting is also attended by Maharashtra State Unit Chief Sunil Tatkare, Home Minister R. R Patil, Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil, and Minister of State for Housing Sachin Ahir. Party spokesman Nawab Malik said that discussions revolved around discourses on the political condition in Maharashtra, as well as organisational vigilance.
