The deadlock between two major entities namely Sewa Sahakari Societies, Rice Millers' Association and the State Government, finally came to an end almost after a period of three years after it was mediated by the Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel. The ice was broken and appropriate measures were finally taken, to get things going in a seamless manner. The article below throws more light on the same subject.
The three year old conflict between Sewa Sahakari Societies, Rice Millers Association and State Government has finally come to an end, with Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel, acting as a mediator in this case. The ice was broken just a few days back, with the government ready to bear the brunt by agreeing to allow a 2 percent loss, for delaying the purchase of the goods. Apart from Patel, the other individuals who took active part in this meeting are Deputy Chief minister Ajit Pawar, food and civil supplies minister Anil Desmukh, MLC Rajendra Jain, senior officers of state of finance, food and civil supplies and representatives of the societies. The problem continued for almost three years and it was acting as a hurdle towards the growth of this sector. Now that the whole issue has come to an end, it would indeed be easier for all this three arbitrary entities, to get going with the business procedures.
The good news is that the rice millers will once again start buying paddy in the district soon. The tussle between Food Corporation of India (FCI) and Rice Millers Association was due to the high transport charges. To add to the woes, the FCI also failed to collect the paddy that had been rotting in the warehouses of the society, for almost three years. Praful Patel contributions and the initiative taken to solve the problem have helped in the revival of rice millers. Besides, these societies tend to play a vital role, in regards to the food distribution chain. For instance, the societies act as subagents for Maharashtra State Marketing Federation (MSMF) for procurement of rice at minimum guarantee rates. The rough and tumble between these two organizations, led to a debacle. The stock of the paddy in the warehouses, went on increasing, as there was no one to buy the paddy, in the market. The societies were buying paddy from cultivators and storing it in their godowns. Due to the dispute, the societies become bankrupt and the paddy started rotting.
The fiasco would have culminated into a chain of a few more disastrous, had there not been a timely intervention by NCP Leader Praful Patel. However, things are now finally falling into place and people could be seen running errands in the market place. To finish off the last rites, tribal minister Madhukar Pichad has already ordered other procurement agencies in the state and tribal development societies to start procurement of paddy in tribal regions. We hope that such trivial issues that disturb the chain of business proceedings do not crop up anymore, in times to come.
NCP Leader Praful Patel has also been the ‘go to’ man for his party, when it comes to taking decision on several intricate matters. For more information on Praful Patel, follow him on his social networking sites such as Facebook, Google + and his YouTube channel.
