JSW is to host India – Pakistan friendly match

JSW will be hosting and organising two international friendly matches between India and Pakistan that will be played at the Bangalore Football Stadium on August 17 and August 20. Partha Jindal, CEO of Bengaluru FC says that it is a proud moment for them to be associated with two games that Football fans in India are earnestly waiting for. These matches are expected to get strong and affirmative response from the football lovers.

The details and particulars will also serve as an able assessment for national team coach Wim Koevermans before India U – 23 team departs to Incheon to play the Asian Games. Football fans in Bengaluru had created headlines for turning out in large numbers and packing Bangalore Football Stadium during Bengaluru FC’s victory in the I-League season. In this regard AR Khaleel, Honorary President of the Karnataka State Football Association, also Member, AIFF Executive Committee, said that the city deserved the honour of hosting the fixtures. These friendlies are expected to be real treat for the football loving crowds and the games are hoped to be a real success.

Kushal Das, General Secretary, All India Football Federation (AIFF) is quite excited with the whole arrangement and expressed his gratitude to JSW for taking such an initiative. These matches are of great importance as it prepares the stage for participating in the Asian Games.

Under the leadership of AIFF President Praful Patel, AIFF is taking the high roads to success with the remarkable initiatives to create a roadmap for development for the sport. Not only in the Asian Games, but Indian football is also making as AIFF fetches the bid for U-17 FIFA World Cup which has been scheduled in 2017. With Praful Patel contributions, a special committee has been organised which will be advising the players on the technical parameters of the game. This committee will be advocated by top names like Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri and Derrick Pereira. AIFF is also putting its best endeavours to develop the game from the very elementary level. It is with this motive, AIFF has received an overwhelming response by organising Grass Roots Programme (GRP) and Youth Development Programme (YDP).
